* our summer homage
* gonna check this out! who's down?!
* one of our fave date nights
* a quintessential eleganza-era date night we've had!
I've known this beauty since 1st grade! We attended St. Brendan elementary school together all the way til seniors at Notre Dame Academy! Nadia and I have been twins in our younger years and still remain as sisters in our ladyhood. George and I are fortunate to have Nadia in our lives. We also love spending QT with her family. We've travelled, danced, had 5 hour coffee dates, stayed with me at a police station in Texas, and been there for each other through it all!
My sista from another mista! Life of any party, any time, any where! We've been girlfriends since freshmen year highschool! I wouldn't have met my husband had it not been with May and her family! We've shared so much together all these years that I possibly could not imagine what my childhood would be like if May were not there. She's always made me feel like a part of her family, and I know we'll all grow vintage together.
We've been so cool with each other since lowered cars started out! Dancing in the backseat of someone's car to Circus at the Arena...she's my great gal pal since freshmen year highschool! Jos has been a great soundboard for George and I in numerous occassions! Jos always gets me too! I am so lucky to have a sister like Jos, aka "Baby Sopht" - hahaha!!!
My favorite old lady =) I've been priviledged to have this gal as my friend since 7th grade and throughout highschool! Trust me, it's a privilege! I may know my AGI, but I love this gal beyond any $ can say. Mel thinks we (May, Nad, Jos, and myself) are the crazy ones of Mag 7 but I know she sees the humor of our dynamic group of friends. Mel, I'm glad you never had to move (remember when I said that!) and so happy that you and Pinay are here to stay! I'll never forget our starting up team in basketball in 7th-8th grade. So many memories...
Bev and I go back from junior high to highschool too! I remember the days when we wore cross colors, squishing in a blue Nova to pick you her up from 3rd St elementary, and heading over to the Gal, haha! She's been my great friend through these years and my personal wedding consultant! I appreciate all that she's done, especially since she and Ja were my photographers for the civil wedding! She is truly a sister to me.
The best laugh ever and the best thought process ever! Staci spits out a wealth of knowledge and I'm so glad to have her in my life. She's been the greatest friend ever through all our years since highschool. I'll never forget hiding you in the trunk of a CRX just to get in the Palmdale races for free, hanging out with Kosoku, and those nice summers with you, me, and Patty in Burbank. Not to mention those looooong conversations over the phone. I'm so thankful to have Staci as my sister for life.
He puts out fires, saves lives, and owns the single existing copy of "Georgeman" the video. 11 years my senior, my brother was ruthless in the funniest way...such as falling asleep in his room and waking up in the middle of the night, outside, by myself, in the back of a parked pick-up truck. What's even more extraordinary about my brother is his capacity to put those he loves before him. Always there if you need him, his loyalty is unwaivering.
In the gamut of life, we have been through the trenches together. However, he was there for the good times too, not just the hard times. Well...at least not hard for him. Like when he took me snowboarding for the first and only time in my life. He was there to show me the ropes on how to snowboard on the bunny slope, and he was also there to watch and laugh whenever I would try really hard to get off the ski lift. Chris has been there through thick and thin; compassionate, dedicated, and is always exactly what you need. Chris isn't just a good man, he's a Great Man.
We moved from Victorville to Crazy Vegas to Serious Los Angeles, Chris and I learned the lessons of life as they came. Super adventurous, he is definitely a self-contained wolfpack. However, he is also the one that steps up when nobody else does and makes sure that his friends are treated right. Chris can always make you forget your troubles, but he also gives you the best memories to look back at. Either way, he will always be there to help you move forward.
If you ever run into him, make sure to recite his favorite movie line, “Go get it Roger.”
With about 2 decades under our belts, Gil never ceases to amaze me as to how inherently entertaining he is. Everyday after work, I from KFC, Gil from Pizza Hut, Masculino from McDonalds, and Hancock from his city job, we would always rendezvous at Gil’s house for a fast-food potluck, long nights of poker (not for money but for each other’s wardrobe), and cracking jokes at each other. I still remember when Gil would surreptitiously rub the hair of customers bowing down to count their change as they were paying only to think there was a draft in the room. Although a jokester, Gil is loyal, compassionate, and is always there whenever you need him.
We both muscled our way through SCALE, a maniacal 2 year law school program. Even more importantly, he was my first friend in law school. We connected. The first time we met, we stood in the spot for two hours talking about things that probably only Paul and I would find entertaining. As we drudged through reading 300-400 pages a night, every night, for two years, we pushed each other to be as creative with the law as possible. He was always willing to help others and never denied a request for help. Even during civil procedure exams, he always made sure to remind everyone that “the 100 Mile Bulge Rule actually extended his jurisdiction beyond California boarders to exercise control over a person.” Paul is a giving, genuine, and an all out great person.
Tim, the professional, a mentor and guide to the upper echelons of the professional world. Always at the ready to educate on etiquette, explain purpose and approach to professional functions, and help a poor lad like me to understand appropriate attire. As a Trojan and as a United States Air Force airman, Tim’s loyalties obviously run deep. He has pedigree but is down to earth and has always been there for me whenever I needed it. Tim is one of the few that I trust when I need a real friend who can take care of business. Unfortunately, he and Joann do wear SC sweaters during football season, but not everyone can be perfect. Just kidding. Go Bears!
Despite the title Duke of Dudes, the 31 year old George E. Misa has also been declared by the State as Esquire. He and the Lady of the Westside have been bound by civil marriage since 2011 during the cool days of spring, the 7th day of April.
Within history resides the date July 13, 2002, the point in time in which the Duke of Dudes and the Lady of the Westside met for the first time.
...and in storybook fashion, when life dealt them cards they won their hands...and in this case, it was Joann's hand that was won.
THE BARBARY COAST
This is where Joann Sara Cristobal’s and George Ednalino Misa’s map began.
Under the city lights of America’s playground
their journey commenced at an after-hours club...
the underground room of Drais.
- THE 48 HOURS PRIOR TO INFINITE LOVE
At the point of contact introductions were maid, dancing ensued, and an attempt to impress was made.
"george...where are my eyes? (glasses)"
"moto...how come your hair is still stuck on the shower wall?"
"lets get coffee!"
"you keep stealing the blanket"
"can we go to the beach?"
"oooh are you gonna cook?"
"ay yay yay...."
"what if we had two toilets next to each other in our next house?"
"Ewww! That stinks! Come here and smell this."
May, Nadia, and I go to Vegas with the Lapena family on Friday, July 12, 2002. We head to Drai's (back when it was Barbary Coast Casino) past midnight. We boozed up with Long Islands and May finds a comfy couch: "Anyone sitting here?" George says, "No, have a seat." George's drink - Evian water - and we start talking about locals in LV. George said it totally had "LA" written all over our faces. Eventually we made it on the dance floor only for George to embarrass me by dancing the Tinikling. Ha ha.
Nadia says, "Take us to your favorite local spot! We're hungry!" We hop in his 1988 Toyota Celica, and his funky car takes us to Gold Rush Casino, this small edifice in front of the gleaming lights of Sunset Station. George, "I got breakfast for all of us." I'm thinking, "Awww, nice guy." George tells the waiter, "We're all having $1.99 steak and eggs" This guy is a keeper, I'm thinking - hilarious!
The next night we all meet up again and round 2 at Rum Jungle. Summer love extended to ten years and going...George & I celebrate our anniversary on July 13, the night we hit the jackpot at love & luck.
Thanks Lapena family for inviting me along your trip, sorry Velvet we lagged Sunday morning (heehee), and thanks Nad and May for being my girls for life.
...my list goes on and on...

Welcome to our wedsite! We created this space as a special way for friends and family to participate and celebrate with us - anytime, from anywhere. We hope you enjoy browsing these pages for photos and stories about us and our future plans. And while you are here, please sign our guestbook! Salamat!
Since I'm not on fakebook, my account on myspace has been outdaed, and i forgot my friendster's account...and while George isn't much of a fan of social media (although he does have FB), we've personalized this wedsite and we're excited to create this on a DVD. This time capsule of our journey over the last 10 years being together totally shows our love for our family and friends. I'd say curating this wedsite is the funnest part in planning our "bonga" wedding - music selection and order, laughing at a lot of our pictures with friends, and trying to find the best pic we had that culminated that memory! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives and are excited to create more fun adventures and laugh-out-loud memories! Enjoy and mabuhay!
